Halvik a leading provider of Agile Full Software Lifecycle services for Federal Agencies, has been awarded a three year contract with the Government Publishing Office (GPO) to provide web development and web content management system implementation and migration.

Halvik is supporting GPO with the re-design and re-development of the agency’s primary public facing portal for agency services. Halvik’s expertise in user centered design, Agile development, DevOps, and Web Content Management implementation will be leveraged to deliver a stable, responsive, and user friendly portal for GPO’s many stakeholders including, Congressional offices, Federal agencies, depository libraries, private sector vendors, and the general public.

GPO.gov is being re-developed onto a common shared web content management platform, with emphasis on enhancing the user experience for both internal users, agency representatives, and public citizens. In addition to optimizing operations and maintenance costs through ease of maintenance, GPO is seeking to achieve greater agility and deeper digital engagement with public citizens through the multitude of mobile devices available today.

The U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) is the Federal Government’s official, digital, secure resource for producing, procuring, cataloging, indexing, authenticating, disseminating, and preserving the official information products of the U.S. Government. The GPO is responsible for the production and distribution of information products and services for all three branches of the Federal Government, including U.S. passports for the Department of State as well as the official publications of Congress, the White House, and other Federal agencies in digital and print formats. GPO provides for permanent public access to Federal Government information at no charge through the Federal Digital System (www.fdsys.gov), partnerships with approximately 1,200 libraries nationwide participating in the Federal Depository Library Program, and their secure online bookstore.
