Halvik is looking for a senior business analyst with varying experience in all aspects of system/software analysis. The analyst is expected to assess user needs utilizing industry standard model-driven analysis techniques and a structured requirements process via approved processes, templates and tools throughout the software development life cycle. This analyst is also expected to support the project manager on project management activities, to perform as a project coordinator.  Halvik is seeking an enthusiastic and communicative team member with a positive attitude; and a dedication and willingness to work hard.


  • Review and analyze existing applications in order to develop/update detailed supporting documentation.
  • Provide recommendations for design improvements such as the replacement of developed modules with COTS tools.
  • Provide quality control through utilization of a bug tracking system.
  • Identify and implement/develop methods for improving help and end user reference documentation.
  • Lead other team members through the entire system lifecycle.
  • Actively participate in our continuous SDLC process improvement effort.
  • Work with functional users to identify, prioritize and document requirements.
  • Support comprehensive system testing from development of test plans and procedures through system test.
  • Identify methods for assisting and guiding users in the utilization, operation and maintenance of various applications to include generation of on-line help, user manuals, etc.
  • Review and analyze existing applications to generate new, and update existing, engineering documentation.
  • Develop user stories and use-cases for the design and documentation of applications.

  • Provides test automation support for complex to highly complex software applications or IT systems
  • Participates in setting up, configuring, and testing virtualization solutions
  • Responsible for maintaining, setting-up and configure software test environments
  • Designs and implements system test and regression plans, test cases, and automated test scripts
  • Provides daily test status and defect summary by using a formal bug tracking system and interface with the development team to help resolve bugs/issues


  • Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years experience with Agile and/or waterfall test process, defect cycle, SQL and test automation
  • 2+ years of experience with TestComplete or Selenium is preferred. This requirement could be replaced by 1-2 years of software development (coding) experience.
  • Experience implementing, designing, planning, and conducting comprehensive release and regression test.
  • Certificate in Quality Assurance or Software Testing a plus.




Collaborate with customers and stakeholders in high visibility, fast-paced U.S. Federal Government environment to capture technical process and requirements and to write and maintain system documentation. Develop training documentation and plans. Deliver training to system users and stakeholders. Secret Clearance required. Work located in downtown Washington D.C. Overseas travel required 15% of the time.

Essential Functions:

  • Interview and work cross functionally with system stakeholders and senior level Government officials to document technical and functional requirements and system development and process artifacts.
  • Receive and manage process and technical documentation from other contractors. Review documents and provide recommendations and feedback on improving process and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate process with all departments to maintain a clear line of sight for project deliverables and timelines supporting a strong Project Management Office (PMO) function.
  • Attend meetings and maintain notes and records of project status and action items.
  • Organize process and technical documentation and supports project completion in accordance with customer and stakeholder process requirements.
  • Edit, standardize, and revise documentation prepared by other team members.
  • Communicate project status and actions to teams and stakeholders involved in each project.
  • Develops, documents, and provides training to system stakeholders,  Government officials, and other users.
  • Travel overseas to deliver training and attend necessary meetings with stakeholders and Government officials.
  • Support IT PMO process improvement activities
  • Recommend and implement changes at project and system levels.

  • Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall IT PMO objective and US Government stakeholder mission.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires bachelor degree and at least 3 years of experience providing similar services.
  • High degree of competency in Microsoft Office products, especially MS Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Excel.
